Sudarsan Pattnaik’s sand art at Barabati for India vs Sri Lanka T20

To provide a glimpse of Odisha’s rich art and culture to the international players and spectators visiting Barabati stadium during the T20 international match to be played between India and Sri Lanka on December 20, renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a magnificent sand art inside stadium premises.

The sand art has a good luck message with a ball and bat and national flags of both the countries. The sand sculpture has now become a crowd puller with many people gathering to have a glimpse of it. Most of the visitors were even seen taking selfie.

This is Sudarsan Pattnaik’s first sand art at Barabati Stadium. He had earlier announced to create a sand sculpture and had visited the venue. He had also created a sand sculpture at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar welcoming the cricket teams yesterday.

“It is a happy moment for me as I will be creating sand art for the very first time for any international cricket match in my homestate. Earlier in 1999, I had created a sand art in England during cricket world cup,” said Sudarsan Pattnaik.

The match is slated to begin at 7 PM while the gates of the stadium will be opened from 4 PM for the entry of the spectators. Odisha first state in India to organise a sports meet for tribals
