The Indigo Airlines will begin its daily afternoon Flight service between Kolkata and Bhubaneswar from April 15.
As per the schedule, the flight would leave Kolkata at 3 PM and arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 4 PM. The flight would leave Bhubaneswar at 4.30 PM and arrive at Kolkata at 5.30 PM.
It has been frequently pointed out by the regular travellers and business houses, that an afternoon flight connecting Bhubaneswar and Kolkata was essential. Due to the boost in the passenger load in recent times, acquiring a pocket-friendly ticket in addition to flexible timings for travel is easier said than done. Passengers will now have a platter of alternative timings at their ready disposal.
Another flight would leave Kolkata at 7.30 PM and arrive at Bhubaneswar at 8.30 PM. The flight would leave Bhubaneswar for Mumbai at 9 PM.
“We are catering to the requirements of the passengers. We need 20 percent growth in the passenger’’ traffic. There was a long-standing demand of the passengers to resume the afternoon flight from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata,” Sharad Kumar, director of Biju Patnaik International Airport told to media.
Starting this 15th April, the number of flights will be as follows: Indigo Airlines (12), Air India (04) and Go Air (03).
At present, the Indigo, Air India and GoAir Airlines are providing flight services from Bhubaneswar to nine cities of the county.
