Ropeway at Dhauli, Laser show at Lingaraj Bindu Sagar soon
Odisha Tourism in the state capital Bhubaneswar is set to become a lot more attractive. The proposals, if implemented, will boost the industry here.
The tourism department will introduce a ‘ropeway’ at Peace Pagoda Dhauli Hill, a ‘laser show’ at Bindu Sagar natural pond near the Lingaraj temple, a ‘tourist plaza’ near Bhanja Kala Mandap from where visitors will get information on different places and ‘Kalamandal’ for promoting theatre.
According to official sources, to facilitate visit to the Dhauli hill and Peace Pagoda, the tourism department will introduce a ropeway. Now, buses carry tourists up to the hill, negotiating the steep terrain. Dhauli is 8 km from the city, which attracts good number of tourist every year.
Also on the card is ‘laser show’ at the historic Bindu Sagar natural pond near the Lingaraj temple in Old Town. The show will encapsulate the heritage sites, including Lingaraj temple.
The government has also finalized a site near Bhanja Kala Mandap for the swnky tourist plaza. Tourists will get information about different places from the plaza. Representatives of all the states and districts of the state will be there in the plaza to assist visitors.
The government has also planned to construct a large stage for promoting theatre. The building will be named ‘Kalamandal’.
