Now Odia jatra audience are enjoying acting of Shakti Kapoor on Great Eastern Opera’s jatra pendal. Eastern Opera managed by Eastern Media Entertainment signed the veteran Bollywood actor for this season.
Shakti Kapoor is known for his villainous and comic roles in Hindi films. He has featured in more than 700 films throughout his career. In the 1980s and 1990s, Kapoor teamed up with actor Kader Khan as the comical or evil duo in over 100 films.
It is special occasion for Odia Jatra lovers to witness any Bollywood actor’s performance live on stage.
Shakti Kapoor debuts on Odia jatra stage in Balasore recently. Name of the nataka is ‘Majhi Ratira Swami’. He is speaking mostly in Hindi language in this play.
Shakti has signed the contract with the Eastern Media Entertainment at his Juhu apartment in Mumbai. Chief operating officer of Eastern Opera, Malaya Mishra has informed that Shakti Kapoor came to Bhubaneswar to join the other artists on the stage for the rehearsals before.
Shakti Kapoor will act in negative, comedy and serious roles in new natakas of Eastern Opera.
He has earlier acted in an Odia film ‘Bahudibe Mo Jaga Balia’, which was released in 2003.
