World’s largest 3D Sand Santa Claus by Sudarsan Pattnaik in Puri

Noted sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has attempted for another World Record by creating the largest 3D Sand Santa Claus in 2500 sq ft area at Puri beach of Odisha.

Sudarsan claimed that the sculpture that was created using colourful sand, is the world’s largest three-dimensional image of Santa. He depicts Santa offering plants to people.

Like all his sculptures that aimed at creating awareness on various social issues, this one with the message ‘Go Green’ urged people to plant more trees. It took him 10 hours to complete the sculpture with the help of his students.

“Temperature of the earth is increasing every day and we should be planting more and more trees to save the planet”, said the eminent artist who has been creating sculptures of Santa Claus for the last 13 years on the even of Christmas.

To date, Pattnaik has participated in more than 60 international sand art championships and festivals around the world and won many prizes for the country. Sudarsan Pattnaik, who hails from Odisha has been doing sand sculpture since he was nine-years-old.
