Michelle Obama wears Odisha designer Bibhu Mohapatra dress

US First Lady Michelle Obama arrived in India wearing a floral dress by Odisha-born designer Bibhu Mohapatra. She is on a three day visit to India along with American President Barack Obama.

The dress was part of Bibhu’s Spring 2015 collection.

“I am thankful, grateful and very excited about the First Lady wearing a dress designed by me on an official visit to India. With this, my journey, in a sense, came full circle today,” Bibhu told.

“She liked the dress and we also designed a long jacket. The whole ensemble worked quite well,” he added.

This was the third occasion – the first was in 2012 during a Jay Leno TV show and in October 2014 at a Black Caucus dinner – when Michelle was seen sporting an outfit designed by Bibhu Mohapatra.
