Bhubaneswar: Fish-on-Wheels food trucks inaugurated by CM Naveen

Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated fleet of food trucks under the banner of ‘Fish on Wheels’. Now food lovers can enjoy lip-smacking fish delicacies at various places across Bhubaneswar.

Besides, the CM also inaugurated an ultra-modern Chilika Fresh outlet in front of Keshari Talkies, where customers can get good quality fish, prawn, shrimp, lobster and dry fish. Three such outlets have already been opened by FISHFED.

“The state government and Falcon Marine Exports Limited (FMEL) have jointly opened this outlet with an aim to provide fresh and quality fish at reasonable prices. Through this outlet, the farmers will be able to sale their products directly without middlemen interference,” informed FMEL CMD Tara Patnaik said.

The state government has planned to open 100 more Chilika Fresh outlets in different cities including Cuttack, Berhampur, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Bhadrak, Jeypore, Baripada and Bhawanipatna.

“At Chilika Fresh consumers can get a huge variety of local and sea fish in a hygienic condition. Besides, they can also get other sea foods products and dry fishes prepared and packed hygienically,” said panchayati raj minister Pradeep Maharathy.

Consumers have a wide range of options including Rohi, Bhakura, Kantala, Indian Salmon, Pomfret, crab, prawns and many more variants to choose from. Besides, there are facilities for ‘Ready to eat’ and ‘Ready to cook’ at the stores.
