Odisha government approves 13 projects worth Rs 14981 crore

The Odisha government on Thursday approved 13 projects worth Rs 14,981 crore investment. The projects will provide employment to 22,600 people.

The major projects which received approval include Adani Wilmar’s refined edible oil mill with an investment of Rs 687.12 crore. The proposed oil mill will generate employment for 2,150 people.

The proposal of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for setting up of second generation (2G) Ethanol plant in Bargarh district with an investment of Rs 500 crore was approved. This project is expected to create employment for 520 people.

Shyam Metallics and Energy Limited’s proposal for setting up steel billets, bars and flat products at an investment of Rs 870.20 crore, with potential of creating employment opportunities for 1,373 people, also got the state government’s nod.

The authority also cleared the investment proposal of Natraj Hotel and Resorts Pvt Ltd to set up a 5-star hotel at Bhubaneswar with an investment of Rs 140 crore, Marigold Heritage Pvt Ltd’s proposal to set up a 5-star hotel cum resort with an investment of Rs 268 crore and Crackers India Infrastructures Ltd’s proposal to construct a 4-star hotel at Bhubaneswar at a cost of Rs 84.12 crore.

The other investment proposals approved include Page Industries Ltd’s plan to set up a garment manufacturing unit at Ramdaspur, Cuttack with an investment of Rs 135 crore and employment potential of 6,850, Globus Spirits Ltd’s proposal to set up a distillery with bottling plant at Chandbali in Bhadrak district with an investment of Rs 150 crore.

Falcon Marine Export Ltd’s proposal to set up a shrimp processing and freezing plant at Bhubaneswar at a cost of Rs 77.98 crore, Eastern Nutriments PVT Ltd’s proposal to set up a biscuit and dairy products unit at Ramdaspur, Cuttack with an investment of Rs 75 crore, Rakhi Agencies Ltd’s proposal to set up an Aluminium Conductor and Alloy rod at Angul Aluminium Park at a cost of Rs 59.92 crore were also cleared.

The State Level Single window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) approved Rs 150 crore investment proposal of M/s Carnival Films Pvt Ltd to set up Multiplex, Food Court, Community centre and Supermarket in all the 30 districts of the state in two phases.
