Energy drink in name of Dutee Chand, developed by SOA University
Odisha’s Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University launched an energy drink “Druta Soanjeevani” in the name of Odia sprinter Dutee Chand on Friday.
This drink was developed by the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS) under SOA University. It was launched by Olympian Anuradha Biswal.
Faculty SPS Dr Goutam Ghosh, who developed the drink, described it as a rejuvenator which contained Spirulina Platensis, Salvia Hispanica, Almond, Amla, Nutmeg, Jastimadhu, Sunthi, Pipali, Dalchini, Panmadhuri, Stevia, Lemon, Mint and Honey. “It is completely safe and rejuvenating,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the idea for developing such an energy drink had taken roots after Dutee Chand had visited the University last year.
It was decided to name the energy drink as ‘Druta Soanjeevani’ as speed was the forte of the Odia athletes participating in the Rio Olympiad, he said and complimented Dr. Ghosh and his team for developing the trial batch of the drink in record time.
Notably, Dutee Chand became the first Indian woman to qualify for the Olympics in 36 years.
