Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai wins Women of Worth award 2016

Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai, a school girl from Odisha, was among the eight women to win NDTV-L’Oreal’s Women of Worth awards 2016 on Monday.

Lalita had received the award for developing a cheap method of cleaning waste water, which uses waste corncobs as a key ingredient. At 14, she was the youngest recipient of the award.

The presence of a number of celebrities including Katrina Kaif and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had her completely overwhelmed. “Once I saw Sonam Kapoor Ma’am, I haven’t even looked at my award,” she said.

Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai, who hails from Damanjodi in Koraput district in Odisha, won the Community Impact Award at the prestigious Google Science Fair 2015 held in California.
